I finished this painting this morning...

This one took the least amount of time but it's my favorite. I love how the
simplicity of it make it look so fresh.

Back from Hawaii!

I'm back from Hawaii, and had a wonderful time. I met a lot of interesting people, which always happens when one travels alone. One was an artist who lived in the hostel I stayed in. He was amazingly talented, and had a notebook filled with drawings. They reminded me of Leonardo da Vinci's notebooks; they had everything from architecture plans to landscapes to studies of the human body. Here he is...

He even looks a little like Leonardo might, sans the Hawaiin shorts!!

I also visited my brother in San Jose. We went on a wonderful hike, then had dinner in San Francisco.

I've always loved trees, especially climbing them! This one is a gorgeous redwood.

 

Then later we had dinner in San Francisco at Pier 39, where we had a wonderful view of the Bay

and a perfect spot to spy on tourists!

On the way home I took some pictures of the scenery below.

These were some cows I met in Hawaii. They were very curious, and I had about fifty of them quietly staring at me like this for 15 minutes straight!

Today I went to Columbia to deliver my cat to my daddy/babysitter. My parents
live on the lake so I got some pretty pics of different scenes around the water...

My dad was burning brush, so I got a chance to take some cool fire pics - I
didn't look too cool doing it though; I was down in the dirt trying to get this
unique angle.

 

My parents have a wonderful view...

Does anyone know what these flowers are? Maybe blanket flower? They are gorgeous!

My Day in the Garden

I didn't paint today, but I did garden! I'm trying to get everything ready for my absence during my trip to Hawaii. Here are a couple of pics of what it did to my nails!

Ewwwww!

I rearranged all my plants around a sprinkler, hooked up to a timer.

 

I had to take a break from all that gardening to play with kitty!

I made a new friend today:

She was walking along my road so I looked up her owners and took her home.
She was not happy to be put back in her kennel!

And then I finished my oil painting...

I'll put it up for sale as soon
as it's dry!

Today was my first official day of painting full time - something I'm going to try out to see if it's viable to do on a full time basis instead of going back to work at the end of summer (I work in a school). So here's what I'm working on....

This is a small oil of an Andalusian stallion. I also finished these today...

My dad loves pelicans, so he's the inspiration behind this one.

I loved the light in this picture!

I also took some pictures today. I'd like to paint them, if I ever get a chance!

I went to Brookgreen Gardens yesterday, and they have a wonderful zoo featuring native animals.

There was a late afternoon shower, giving me the perfect opportunity to get cloud pics!

And last but not least, here's how my garden's doing!
